ABOUT SIDELION.CO

It started on the soccer field of a college campus in Johnson City, Tennessee. I was coaching – from the sidelines. From scouting and training, to practice lessons plans, I went through plenty of notebooks and scrap sheets of paper. I loved a notebook; I did not love carrying it around.

My idea for the coaching notebook then slowly grew. My children have a book titled “What do you do with an Idea?” – Sidelion.co is an idea, a chance, I was not going to let slip by. Now, I needed a brand. My wife, born in South Africa, has half of a lion’s face tattooed; I got the other half not too long after. We loved the asymmetrical aesthetic. She made the comment that “sidelines” sounds like “side lions” if said quickly enough, & designed what is now our logo.

ABOUT ME

The name's Zach – I've coached at club, high school and collegiate levels.

I'm an open book and happy to chat to anyone and everyone. From athletic and sport topics, to hole in the wall restaurants, life experiences, and more.

There's something about getting back to the basics of pen + paper that I prefer, which is what is driving me to push this idea. Waiting for the launch of round one, I've already made notes and thought about what improvements I can make to round two; how can I improve it to make it better for coaches.
